The Company

Ferric is a technology startup based in New York City that is pioneering an entirely new approach to power delivery for Integrated Circuits and Electronic Assemblies to enable significant improvements in the integration density and efficiency of voltage regulators (VRs) compared with current commercially available technologies.

The Role
The Business Development Manager role at Ferric is customer-facing and will focus on attaining design wins for Ferric’s power solutions in AI and High-Performance Computing as well as other application spaces. This is a western regional role based in Ferric’s Santa Clara facility and is northern California centric but will include the entire west coast of the US. This individual will lead strategy execution with customers located in the territory.


The Person
The ideal candidate will possess a breadth of abilities and skills, including a strong technical capability in power, ideally in integrated voltage regulators. A technical understanding of the power integrity concerns of processor architects, packaging, and thermal management are highly desired. The person should possess strong marketing and presentation skills, a solid understanding of the customers’ business and its decision makers, and the ability to craft resonating customer value propositions. Most importantly, the person will be the business leader for the assigned accounts, contributing to strategy, setting direction, and achieving success in all facets. The person must be self-driven, and capable of operating autonomously.

Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the setting of account strategy, the resulting tactical milestones, and leading the team to achieve them.

  • Be a primary contact point in customer engagements, evangelizing new company technologies and products, driving to design-in and revenue capture goals.

  • Drive and manage all pre-design win efforts and deliverables, including marketing collateral, product portfolio planning, technical summits, and Proof-of-Concept demo’s

  • Understand the customer’s business goals and requirements, shaping value propositions that fulfill needs and resonate with the customer

  • Foster relationships with customers at both management and engineering levels.

Preferred Qualifications

·       10 years of power semiconductor experience

  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in a customer-facing role: technical sales, application engineering or technical marketing

  • Strong understanding of voltage regulator operation

  • Knowledge of modern AI and HPC chips, their power requirements and concerns.

  • Outstanding written, oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple simultaneous projects

  • Highly results driven

Academic Credentials
BS, or higher, in Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred. MBA a plus

Senior ATE Test Engineer

Ferric is a technology startup based in New York City that is pioneering an entirely new approach to power delivery for Integrated Circuits and Electronic Assemblies. This approach leverages Ferric’s integration of thin-film magnetic inductors with CMOS technology to enable a significant improvement in the integration density and efficiency of integrated voltage regulators (IVRs) compared with current commercially available technologies.

As a Ferric IC Test Engineer, you will gain exposure to the full product-life of Ferric’s ICs by working with a diverse cross-functional team including IC designers, test & application engineers, engineering vendors, the fab, and our customers.  Your primary responsibilities will be to take full ownership of ATE testing and characterizing Ferric’s mixed-signal ICs, including creating ATE test plans, developing ATE production and characterization test programs for package level, and Known Good Die (KGD) testing. You will also support IC product qualification and production testing by our engineering vendors as ICs are productized.  The position requires a strong background in mixed-signal IC testing, experience with ATE programming and standard circuit test lab equipment, object-oriented programming, and data-analysis skills.  Applicants should be self-motivating and possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work well and contribute on a team.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with IC design and test teams to create and review test plans and test cases, including providing recommendations for DFT & TFQ, test & debug visibility, etc

  • Design and development of ATE HW

  • Develop ATE test program of KGD, and package level testing of Ferric’s PMIC devices

  • Support and execute product qualification 

  • Bench-level testing, characterization, and debug of full ICs and IC sub-systems as required

  • Drive engineering vendors for IC product qualification and production testing, including coordination of bench- & wafer-level tests, yield improvement, and test cost reductions

  • Interface with customers to review IC test measurement data and procedures

  • Assist with failure and root cause analysis

  • Industry Experience:  3+ years ATE experience

Thermal Mechanical Engineer

As a Ferric Thermal Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing thermal solutions for Ferric’s voltage regulator products. These solutions will be used in Ferric’s applications demonstrators as well as reference designs for customer applications. You will cooperate extensively with Ferric’s circuit design, component design, applications, and test teams. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Thermal Design

    • Design thermal solutions for Ferric’s products in relevant customer application scenarios. Hardware includes heat sinks, heat spreaders, cold plates, and/or other innovative solutions

    • Create prototypes of thermal solutions

    • Correlate simulated and measured performance of thermal solutions

    • Coordinate with component design engineer to co-optimize thermal, mechanical, and electrical performance of devices

  • Thermal Analysis

    • Evaluate thermal performance of power electronics devices 

    • Give feedback to component design teams to improve thermal performance of Ferric products

    • Create thermomechanical models of Ferric products for customer evaluation and internal reliability study

    • Evaluate reliability performance of power electronics devices, including warpage and stress-strain analysis

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering / Material Engineering with 0-5 years of experience

  • Strong Understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermal hardware design

  • Knowledge of thermal solutions for power electronics

  • Basic experience of PCB design tools

  • Experience with thermomechanical analysis software

  • Experience with industry standard thermal modeling software (Cadence Celsius, Ansys Icepak, Simcenter FloTherm, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in Mechanical Engineering / Material Engineering with 2-10+ years of experience

  • Experience with data center thermal solutions

Component PCB and Package Design Engineer

As a Component PCB and Package Design Engineer, you will gain exposure to the full product-life of Ferric’s ICs by working with a diverse cross-functional team including IC designers, test & application engineers, component designers, engineering vendors, the fab, and our customers. Your primary responsibilities will be designing and simulating discrete circuit components and integrating them in a full system PCB. This position requires a background in component analysis, PCB layout best practices and experience in transitioning from simulation software to physical designs. Applicants should be self-motivated and willing to take full responsibility for finding engineering solutions. They must have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills to work well and contribute to a team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Schematic and layout design for PCBs used for the validation, evaluation, and/or demonstration for Ferric’s products

  • Layout design for organic package substrates or HDI substrate or IC substrate used for the for Ferric’s products

  • Extracting and modeling of PCB Power Delivery Networks (PDN) and Clock Routing for estimation of parasitic effects

  • Support design engineers to simulate and modeling of magnetic devices such as transformers and inductors for circuit level simulations 

  • Designing and selecting components for PCBs in power conversion applications and device measurements

  • Working with circuit design teams for full system analysis in the inclusion of the aforementioned extractions

  • Collaborate with Ferric’s circuit, test, and applications teams to ensure that PCB and package designs meet requirements  

  • Bench-level verification of PCB / package performance

  • Analyzing RF performance of various physical components

  • Developing, maintaining, and executing MATLAB and Python scripts to analyze device performance and automation of FEA simulations

  • Generating compact models of our devices for simulation in Cadence Spectre

Supply Chain Manager/Director

As a Supply Chain leader, you will be responsible for  supply chain optimization: Developing and implementing strategies to streamline the semiconductor supply chain,ensuring efficient material sourcing, production, and distribution. As such, working knowledge of semiconductor production flow, costing and inventory management is a key requirement. You will also be responsible for developing build plans, managing inventory and costs, and working with sales organizations to meet revenue and shipment goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing Supply Chain support

  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Leading NPI efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition from design to production, managing timelines, and   ensuring adequate supply of components.

  • Supplier Management: Evaluating and selecting semiconductor suppliers, negotiating contracts,and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to secure a reliable source of semiconductor materials.

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Responsible for implementation of the policies and procedures to ensure adherence to the quality assurance system and oversight of a team that promotes customer satisfaction. Champions ISO certification, continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives to establish an effective quality assurance program. IC Reliability Engineer

As a Ferric IC Reliability Engineer, you will gain exposure to the full product life of Ferric’s ICs by working with a diverse cross-functional team including IC designers, test & application engineers, engineering vendors, the fab, and our customers.  Your primary responsibilities will be taking full ownership of reviewing designs for reliability, planning for reliability testing, developing the reliability qualification plan, developing the required H/W and S/W, and executing the plans. In addition, you will be responsible for generating internal and external reports and performing failure and root cause analyses. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define reliability requirements and develop reliability qualification plans

  • Manage the design and implementation of qualification hard- and software

  • Run the internal qualification tests in our lab and manage qualification tests with external partners

  • Participate and contribute in design reviews, DFMEA, etc. through the entire product development life cycle; assess and communicate reliability risk to stakeholders.

  • Design and develop reliability monitoring and long-term reliability testing

  • Design and develop custom test fixtures to conduct various mechanical and electric testing requirements for our products

  • Perform failure analysis to understand the root cause and drive resolution of failures occurring during product development and during the entire product life cycle

  • Plan and execute Electromigration testing

  • Development and execution of Python scripts to automate the characterization and data acquisition of key DC-DC power-converter metrics

  • Circuit and PCB design (and occasional assembly) of bench-level IC test boards

  • Support the Field Applications Engineering team with bench test/demo setups and customer support items

  • Drive engineering vendors for IC product qualification, including coordination of bench- & wafer-level tests, and yield improvement

  • Interface with customers to review IC reliability data and procedures

  • Review suppliers' processes and products for conformance to reliability and quality standard

  • Audit suppliers as needed
